We save lives together! MaxBet’s Helipadmakes history: 94 lives saved since the opening of the first medical helipad in Bucharest

94 lives saved, 94 patients for whom every minute, saved by SMURD helicopter transport, made the difference between life and death, 94 landings during the day and night on the first medical helipad on the terrace in Bucharest. This is the first eight months of activity’s summary of the helipad built by MaxBet at the University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest. A helipad that has made history since its design and construction, being the only  helipad with two flight paths, which allow landings during the day and night, even in the harshest weather conditions.

Most patients taken over by the pilots of the General Aviation Inspectorate and SMURD doctors were brought with diagnoses such as acute myocardial infarction or stroke, Bucharest University Emergency Hospital being recognized for its medical performance in cardiology and having one of the first units in Romania for stroke and neurovascular emergencies.

The average age of the patients who were transferred by helicopter to the University Emergency Hospital is 60 years old. Patients over the age of 80 were also brought in, as well as five newborns, the youngest of them being only one day old.

"Every life saved represents a victory for us because for these patients even one minute makes the difference between life and death. All these victories confirm that MaxBet has made the best possible investment in the construction of the first medical helipad on the terrace in Bucharest, at the largest medical unit in the capital. Our investment of 1 million euros will last over time and every patient saved by doctors can tell its story. We experience an unique feeling every time we find out that another patient has been saved and that we can help the heroes from the guard room and the surgery room. All these because we care about our peers, because we know that we save lives together.", said Ioana Bazavan, MaxBet general manager.

The 94 patients brought by SMURD helicopters come from all over the country: Craiova, Bacau, Galati, Braila, Tulcea, Constanta.

The MaxBet investment facilitates the activity of the health professionals from the University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest. The medical activity is integrated with the didactic activity, research and scientific activity, and through the large number of university doctors with a highly specialized training it represents an important training center for resident doctors, for UMF ”Carol Davila”, Bucharest, students, but also for nurses training.
